Behind the scenes of a painting
This Miyajima print is an acrylic painting focusing on the courtyard of a Japanese garden in Miyajima’s Folklore and History Museum. It was such a peaceful and inviting scene to see in person that I wanted to remember it in as a painting.
I focused on layering different kinds of greens to create that feeling of a vibrant energy that I was feeling whilst I sat peacefully looking at the garden!
My particular focus was the stillness of the water amid the lushness of the foliage surrounding it. It’s something I couldn’t help but be captivated by.
